Found a good lead on a beat to hell 1989 240sx that would make a perfect drift missile. I used to own a '92 240sx, so I'd like to think I know my way around these pretty well.

No title, no interior, yadda yadda... $250 (asking price) comes with spare low(ish) mileage KA24
Also been pretty tempted by this, which I've been watching for about a week now. I've personally been in love with the FB "rex" ever since my uncle let me thrash his '85 GSL-SE.

has title, "needs engine work", clean body and interior... $600 (asking price) apparently runs and drives
Issues with either include
1. Space constraints (not entirely insurmountable though as I can rent a second garage for a reasonable price)
2. Pretty sure my fiancee would kill me for purchasing ANOTHER vehicle

I'm not talking you out of either of these. You're getting them. Got it? :)

Get da Datsunnnnn.

I vote both! Restore the RX, turn the Dat ass un into a Lemons fighter!

I know for a fact I do not have the space for both, I was leaning more toward the 240 though because I recently found out the the local racetrack holds several drift events every year (including chumpcar drifting)
Would love to get the rex and throw in the rebuilt 13b one of my friends in the area has, but not enough money to take on something like that right now.

honestly, I'm really thinking about it. Going to check it out later this week and see if she's a total basket case. I have plans for her that don't necessarily involve needing to title & register ;)

YES SIR!!

Haha, Just make sure the Nissan isn't overly abused.

I'm pretty sure EVERY manual '89 240 has been abused, but for what I have planned, I'm not too concerned about the car's history if you catch my drift ;)

Haha, Drift-mobile it is.
These two haven't been abused. But one has a birth defect. They both have some low ass mileage though.

"catch my drift"
what you did there...I see it

Honestly not sure if the "birth defect" refers to the automatic or the convertible top.

Both, Convertible and Automatic
I have the feeling that it's going to be Trailered around, and will spend most of it's time sideways if you pull the trigger.
Since it's only $250, if it doesn't work out you can always make a profit on parts.

That's the idea, on a trailer, sideways, or in the ditch with smoke pouring out from under the hood (and that'll likely just be the first event)
As for the price, that was the exact same thing I'm thinking. Currently I'm trying to determine exactly what parts come with the car. Seller says "have all parts needed to fix", I'm trying to determine what that means before I waste an hour or two of my time.

Yeah, If he means a new front clip, interior and engine parts. It's probably worth it. Bringing it home might be a problem though, unless you've got a towing capable thing.

I'm quite experienced at getting AAA to tow projects. Usually it involves a story about "buying the car unseen" and "not realizing it wouldn't run"

Uhm, Yessir. I though it was in running condition
Yessir, I did see this picture. I still thought it would run.

And worst case I've got a few friends with trucks, and a U-haul near my place
